This thesis focusses on cycle routes of older people. This entails researching elderly characteristics, accident analyses, and route preferences and choices. Data analysation coming from the B-Riders programme has been used to study differences in route choices between younger and older bicyclists, in order to find out what routes older people primarily use when differing from younger people. Safety improvements have been presented based on this data analysis.
